MRBBaby Solo Show

Don’t put Baby in a box! The same is true for MrBBaby – whose artwork blurs the lines between Fine Art, Folk Art, and Street Art.  MrBBaby’s “Solo Show” will clearly show how constructs can coincide as you step into the mind of the artist and creator of Chucho.  Best known for her colorful whimsical characters, MrBBaby’s work is authentic and culturally inspired with a refreshing and playful twist.  MrBBaby has created a family of characters that are always there for one another, supporting each other in hard times, all the while having fun together as much as possible.  As an advocate for mental health awareness, she creates work with positive messages about growth.  Her characters are depicted as strong characters who aren’t afraid of their emotions – whether it be sadness, heartbreak, or joy; her characters are vulnerable; they aren’t worried what other think; and most importantly, they share and care about their friends, their family, and what is going on in each other’s lives.

MrBBaby’s cornerstone character is Chucho, who is a colorful furry piñata.  Originating from China, the piñata were originally filled with seeds and held over the garden so plants would grow after the piñata was smashed.  Life was meant to grow out of destruction – this message has been a powerful message and driving force behind MrBBaby’s work and has defined Chucho, who as a symbol for mental health awareness, is a daily representation of looking for the positives in all situations, especially the negative ones.

Using a variety of different mediums from acrylic paint, spray paint, wood, clay, and more, MrBBaby is constantly experimenting with ways to share her positive messages.  Her paintings on display for her “Solo Show” will be a new body of work that is inspired by her inner child.  Especially during these trying times, MrBBaby wanted to create something positive to shed some light into our lives and remind us that things will get better – to keep going.
